Report following Tohoku Pacific Ocean Earthquake
We inform of our situation by Tohoku Pacific Ocean Earthquake.
Somar has confirmed the safety of all employees and their family members.
Regarding our facilities, Soka Plant (Soka City, Saitama Prefecture) has reported some damage to a part of its facilities; however, these are not serious damage which affects our production.
Currently Somar is evaluating the full impact of the earthquake on Somar’s business activities.
Some of our suppliers of raw materials are facing difficulties to supply their products, and our plant is now being affected by planned power outages. Consequently, our manufacturing operations including production schedule can not help but be rescheduled. Somar, however, will continue to endeavor to maintain supplies to the extent available.
Lastly Somar expresses our deepest condolences to the victims of the earthquake and tsunami and sincerely hopes for swift recovery of the people and areas affected by the disaster.
